On BlueFlag servers, Surface to Air missile batteries are scripted to shut down their radar at a 60% chance when fired upon by Anti radiation Missile (ARM). To counter this you may choose to use the pre-planned modes of Harm. This is just another layer of attempted added realism.
The shut down script makes the radar go silent for a few minutes and then resumes normal operation. Radar is only susceptible for another shutdown after it has resumed operation.
Script does not apply to player placed radar-equipped air defenses. However, the SA-6 Kub site features a smart ranging, firing only when within 60-80% of its maximum range.
